In this, the second episode, I explain and demonstrate soft proofing in Lightroom. An important component of soft proofing is the proper use of “ICC Profiles”. In part one I mentioned that an incorrectly calibrated monitor was the number one reason why people get poor prints. The number two reason is easily the improper use and non-understanding of ICC Profiles.

A properly calibrated monitor is ESSENTIAL to achieving beautiful prints because you must be certain when you’re processing an image that the colors, brightness and contrast that you see on your screen, will be what is printed on the paper.
