Questions & Answers – Part 2

Here is the second installment of Questions and Answers where I answer a few of the recent emails that I’ve received, paraphrased and edited for length.

Questions & Answers – Part 2

Q.) I have several older Canon lenses that are not listed in the Lens Corrections tab of Lightroom. Is there anything I can do?

A.) Unfortunately Adobe doesn’t have lens profiles for every lens from every manufacturer – even newer lenses may not have a profile in Lightroom.

Adobe does have a free app for people to create their own profiles for their own lenses. Personally, I have no idea how to use it and I believe you’ll need to know some basic optic science to create a profile for any of your lenses.

They also have another free app that allows people to share lens profiles that they’ve created...

How I Backup My Images

by Anthony Morganti    @AnthonyMorganti

If you’re reading this in your email, click on the headline to view the video

In this video I demonstrate how I go about backing up my images. Any backup strategy involving Lightroom should adhere to the following rules:

1.) Backup all images in Lightroom as well as the Lightroom Catalog
2.) Make one backup locally to a different hard drive
3.) A second backup should be offsite (the cloud)
4.) Backups should be done automatically, autonomously in the background

In the video I talk about the cloud site I use:

Questions & Answers – Part 1

Questions & Answers – Part 1

In the past I’ve talked about the great quantity of email I receive and how I find it challenging, if not impossible, to keep up with and one thing that has stuck me over the past few years is that a lot of the same questions are asked over and over. With that in mind, I thought it would be a good feature of my website if every now and then I answer viewer emails.

Please sit back, relax and enjoy the first installment of this new feature of AnthonyMorganti.com.

Here are some actual emails I’ve received over the past few weeks – paraphrased and edited for length.

Q.) I hope to be a wedding photographer and I was wondering if I need a full frame camera to shoot weddings?

A.) The short answer is no, you don’t need a full frame camera to shoot weddings...

This is the 73rd episode of Lightroom Quick Tips where I give a quick Lightroom tip.

One of the easiest enhancements you can do to a portrait is to brighten your subject’s eyes. Nice bright eyes in a portrait can really help to bring out the personality of your subject and in general, will make the portrait more appealing to look at.

This is the twelfth episode of a series where I give a single, relatively quick Photoshop tip or technique.

Many people don’t like the newer “Select & Mask” dialog box in Photoshop preferring the old, “Refine Edge” dialog. In this video, I demonstrate how to use the older Refine Edge dialog in the latest version of Photoshop.

A Short Story…

by Anthony Morganti

A Short Story…

Like many, when a new year rolls along I tend to get reflective. Most of the time I look back with fondness of past things that were enjoyable and realize how appreciative I am to be where I am now. Sometimes my reflective thoughts are superficial but others are quite deep. This post has nothing to do with photography – I just would like to talk about one of the deeper reflective thoughts I often think of. It may be a boring story, I don’t know, but to me it’s quite important, even life changing. Allow me to share…

Almost forty years ago, I had an interaction with a person that changed my life forever. Now, don’t misunderstand, it wasn’t a cataclysmic, clouds opening to heaven type of revelation. Not at all...
